Open Lord Laeral Silverhand (pronounced: LAIR-awl), Lady Mage of Waterdeep, is a centuries old Chosen of Mystra. Laeral was married to the original Blackstaff and late Lord Mage of Waterdeep, Khelben Arunsun.
As a centuries-old wizard, Laeral is one of the most accomplished spellcasters in Faerûn, though her powers have been steadily declining as she has to increasingly devote her energies to maintaining her aging body. Like all of Mystra's Chosen, Laeral's divine blessings have been much reduced in the wake of the Spellplague with the gods taking a more distant approach to interferance in mortal affairs. Nonetheless, her knowledge and facility with Weave-craft sets her apart from non-Chosen.
